Wilfred Druml is Professor of Medicine at the University of Vienna and Director of the Acute Dialysis/ Nephrologic Intensive Care Unit at Vienna General Hospital, Austria. He has trained in internal medicine, nephrology and in medical intensive care medicine.
Research interests of Dr. Druml are focused on clinical nutrition with a special emphasis on parenteral nutrition, on acute renal failure, renal replacement therapy, electrolyte/ infusion therapy in general. Dr. Druml has developed several nutrition solutions for patients with renal disease. He has published more than 200 papers in peer-reviewed journals and has contributed to the leading text books in intensive care medicine and nephrology.
